NETWORK MARKETING /
MULTI-LEVEL MARKETING
If you are looking to join a Network Marketing Company (or MLM company) what should you look for to ensure your success in the long-term?
In my experience, and I’m not claiming to be an expert, but I am a Network Marketeer (I have been in Network Marketing for over 9 years) there are some key points that need to be ticked, if you want a successful and secure future in this industry. Judge for yourself the importance of each point. If nothing else it will give you food for thought and hopefully save you wasting your time and money with the ‘wrong’ network marketing (or ‘multi-level marketing’) company.
Is the Network Marketing Company totally financially stable? (Imagine putting in 5 years hard work building your network marketing business only to have the company fold - it happens.)
Do they have a proven track record of success? (Again, you need the stability if you still want to get paid 5-10 years down the line.)
Do they have consumable products? (Who wants to put all their time and effort into continually finding new customers, which is the case if your company’s products are not consumable. Don’t you want your time freed up to build your network if you want a big business? So consumable products are essential for that to happen.)
The Marketing Plan. When you reach a position in the company’s plan, what do you have to do to maintain that position? Can you slide back down the plan if you don’t maintain volume? (Who wants to get penalised for taking time-out?)
Is the plan generous to people at all levels, or just those who were in at the beginning? How easy is it to move up the plan quickly?
Is the Company ethical? Do your research! Spend some time now getting it right, so you don’t waste your time for years to come on the wrong company. There are a lot of good Network Marketing Companies out there - and some may not be so good...
Do they have a good training program in all areas of the country or are you left to ‘get on with it’ once you join up? (You may be very self-motivated and have previous experience of networking, but what if the people you recruit need training - and what if they live at a long distance?)
Is the Company a member of the DSA? ( The Direct Selling Association regulates Network Marketing / MLM companies. Give them a call or log onto their website.)
There are some great companies out there and if you do your homework first you will find the right one for you for the long-term. If you don’t do your research you may spend the next 5-10 years hopping from one company to another and never building up the royalty-style income that is the reward for building a successful network marketing business.
I got lucky 9 years ago. I new nothing about the industry and had no idea what I should be looking for in terms of the points outlined above. It’s only with hindsight that I realised that I was definitely in the minority finding a great Network Marketing Company first go.
If you’d like to find out more about the company I’m in just click here. If you prefer to find a good company through your own research, just use the points above to guide you, and I hope you have every success in this fantastic industry.
